The Bougainville men's woollen cloth peacoat is a French Navy clothing classic. Its name was given to it in homage to Louis-Antoine de Bougainville, an officer and explorer who was the first Frenchman to circumnavigate the world.
The Bougainville piece is a coat that is both authentic and modern, which takes up the codes of the sailor's peacoat: false double buttoning, vertical pockets, a tailored collar and a woollen sheet to provide warmth and waterproofness. Its golden and patinated buttons represent the “National Navy” logo in relief. This elegant and practical peacoat has double piped pockets and zipped piped interior pockets.
